The IEC 60320 AC power inlet is the most common means of connecting a detachable cordset to electrical or electronic equipment that consumes up to 16 A / 250 V at operating temperatures up to 120°C. C7 plugs were originally developed for use in devices such as electric razors, radios and other home appliances and consumer electronics. They are now finding new uses with notebook computers. In some cases, the power connection is made directly into a socket located at the back of the notebook computer. In other cases, it is made through a detached power supply or adapter.
